Journey From Cricket Field to COVID Field

Life hasn’t changed, just perspectives have changed!

Few days back, COVER DRIVE meant striding forward with angled bat hitting through cover region, but today it means wiping those covers that are virus driven

Few days back, STRAIGHT DRIVE meant playing straight back to the bowler, but today it means driving straight to patients and back home without moving around

Few days back, FLICK SHOT meant to angle the ball towards square leg and midwicket, but today it means diagnosing COVIDs in a flick

Few days back, PULL SHOT meant to play aerially over midwicket, but today it means pulling the suspected cases to isolation

Few days back, GLANCE meant to play softly towards square leg, but today it means evaluating fever patients in a glance for COVID

Few days back, LATE CUT meant playing a ball late towards the third man region, but today it means returning home late with cut down on sleep

Few days back charging down the track meant advancing on the pitch, leaving the crease and risking your wicket in search of a biggy, and today it means going out of the way, sacrificing everything and risking own life in search saving these patients

Few days back, Cricket ground was the battlefield and bat, gloves, pads, helmet etc. as weapons to hit the ball and increase the score; while today COVID centers are battle fields, with PPEs, sanitizers, HCQs and remdesivir as weapons, to reduce the score of those who are hit by the spiculated ball (the novel Corona Virus)

Story of COVID-19

A country got careless
Virus became restless
Spreaded like boundless
Making people cureless

Learned turning brainless
Rumors spreading countless
Folks are clueless
Fear turning them hopeless

Forces working sleepless
Medicos efforting relentless
Reviving those getting breathless
Showing an act of selfless
